The Power of Visualization

breakthroughlivingbookIf you envision money falling from the sky, would it? Probably not; although, it’s a nice mental image, isn’t it? Seeing is only the first step. The next step is to take aggressive action toward achieving your goal.

I associate the concept of seeing with the word visualization. Suppose that you earn $2,000 per month and you want to increase it to $5,000. Picture that goal in your mind and connect emotionally to it. Visualize yourself walking up to the bank teller with your paycheck in hand, endorsed on the back and ready to cash. Envision the teller counting out $5,000 in crisp $100 bills—fifty of them! Feel the notes in your hand and imagine yourself counting the money. Take this exercise further by making an emotional connection to the money. What would you have to do to earn an additional $3,000 per month? The more detail you can put in your answer, the more achievable your goal will become. Connect emotionally to the outcome. What will you do with the money? Pay your bills, take a vacation, give some of it away? What other creative ideas will unleash your power to achieve?

Visualization requires quiet, private time. Set aside ten to fifteen minutes each day in an environment conducive to your visualizing. Bring to your consciousness the images, circumstances, and situations you want in your life. Review the images in your mind in as much detail as possible. Go deep inside yourself, but don’t judge or censor your thoughts. If you have a negative or self-doubting thought, draw you, mind back to your visualization. Always have a pen and paper handy so you can jot down positive new ideas at the conclusion of your visualization.

Many wonderful ideas were born through the power of visualization. Visualize your ideal life today!
