Award presented by Performance Health and the Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA)
Akron, Ohio – September 9, 2015 – Lance Armstrong, DC, was presented the 2015 Performance Health and Florida Chiropractic Association Humanitarian Award at the 2015 FCA National Convention & Expo held in Orlando, Florida in August.

“I am grateful to the FCA for their work in protecting their members, educating the public and advocating to legislators. I’m also grateful to the FCA for partnering with Performance Health to honor humanitarians that give so much to others. This is a wonderful profession because of the service-minded people it attracts and the good that you collectively achieve,” stated Marshall Dahneke, Chief Executive Officer, Performance Heath. Mr. Dahneke had the pleasure of presenting the award to Dr. Armstrong.
“At first blush, not all may equate being a humanitarian with service in the Armed Forces, or serving those who serve us” continued Mr. Dahneke. “Yet I am so pleased that the FCA has chosen to recognize both; Dr. Armstrong is a veteran dedicated to serving active duty service members. He has given unselfishly and worked tirelessly to promote the Chiropractic profession and the Chiropractic promise; and by his example, he encourages and inspires us to do the same.”
Veteran Lance Armstrong received degrees from Brevard Community College, the University of Central Florida and Palmer College in Iowa. He has been recognized as the FCA’s Chiropractor of the Year, served as the FCA’s president and lives and practices in the Cocoa Beach area. He has distinguished himself by caring for and serving active duty personnel at Patrick Air Force Base. In addition to supporting those is active duty, he has demonstrated years of service to supporting veterans in need through the Stand Down intervention program, designed as outreach to homeless veterans. Dr. Armstrong also recognized the important work and impact of the Patriot Project. He is now the Patriot Project Director of Florida, which currently has 50 doctors providing care throughout the state.
Upon receiving the award, Dr. Armstrong said, “I am very humbled to receive this award, and I thank Performance Health for the donation to Patriot Project. To have Marshall Dahneke say such kind words in front of my peers was truly moving to the soul. Then to have Patriot Project founder Dr. Tim Novelli and key note speaker SSgt Shilo Harris (USA) also speak on my behalf was enough to test all cardiac muscle electrical conductivity.
“Please know how honored I am to be a Palmer College PO Adjunct Professor and the opportunity it provides to take interns to Stand Downs to assist homeless Veterans. I am also honored to be an FCA member and remain forever grateful to the FCA staff and its board of directors for all their accomplishments. I remain hopeful that one day all military and VA hospitals globally will have at least two DC’s on staff,” concluded Dr. Armstrong.

In addition to honoring Dr. Armstrong at the FCA National Convention, Performance Health provided a $1,000 contribution in his name to the Patriot Project.
