Greeley, CO. – The Supreme Court of Texas has reached a decision in TBCE v. Texas Medical Association. The decision made by the Supreme Court of Texas underlines the value of allowing chiropractic physicians to practice the full range of their specialized skills in caring for patients and ensures that the public has access to safe, well-regulated chiropractic care. The Texas Supreme Court opinion reversed the earlier Court of Appeals decision which struck the Chiropractic Board rules and found that including “nerve” exceeded the statutory scope of practice. The Court went on to say, “Simply put, a healthcare provider cannot diagnose a problem without ruling out other potential causes of the problem. In other words, making a differential diagnosis is an unavoidable part of making a diagnosis. Virtually any problem that a chiropractor treats could potentially have a non-chiropractic source.” The National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards provided financial support for the filing of an Amicus brief to allow additional representation for the chiropractic profession. Our organizations applaud those who have worked towards this decision and what it means for chiropractic patients and overall public health. Headquartered in Greeley, Colorado, the NBCE is a non-profit testing organization ensuring professional competency in chiropractic skills through excellence in testing. Established in 1963, the NBCE develops, administers, and scores standardized examinations for candidates seeking chiropractic licensure in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and in several international countries. SFI® Health Introduces EQUAZEN® PRO: a Medical Food to Support Learning, Concentration, and Brain Development in Children and Adolescents with ADHD†
RENO, Nev., December 7, 2020 – Today, Soho Flordis International (SFI® Health)—a leading provider of premium, evidence-based nutraceuticals and the home of Klaire Labs®—announced the U.S. launch of EQUAZEN® PRO, a medical food specifically designed to nutritionally support children and adolescents with ADHD whose polyunsaturated fatty acid deficiencies cannot be rebalanced through the modification of normal diet alone.†
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurobiological condition that affects nearly 6.1 million children in the U.S. alone. It is traditionally managed with pharmacotherapy, behavioral therapy, or a combination of the two. However, up to 30% of individuals do not respond to stimulant medications, and there are concerns and controversies surrounding the side effects and long-term safety of such drugs.
Within the context of these concerns, as well as the growing prevalence of ADHD, Equazen Pro—supported by over 15 years of ongoing clinical research—represents innovative nutritional support, both alone and in combination with traditional ADHD therapies.
“Parents and practitioners alike are seeking cognitive health solutions for children that are not only effective but also safe to use over the long term,” said Divya Ramakrishnan, GM, SFI Health Americas. “Equazen Pro has been studied in 19 clinical trials, including trials where it showed significant improvements in children’s attention control, vocabulary, memory, inattentive behavior, balanced mood, and academic performance, while also demonstrating a high safety profile.”
Both the development and the beneficial outcomes of Equazen Pro are directly tied to emerging research that demonstrates a connection between ADHD and long-chain omega fatty acid metabolism. Many individuals with ADHD have substantial deficiencies of essential fatty acids, as well as marked omega-3/omega-6 ratio imbalances. Such deficiencies, which are linked to genetic differences found in those with ADHD, are thought to negatively affect key brain functions and inflammatory pathways in the brain.
By combining higher amounts of EPA with DHA, and an optimal balance of GLA, Equazen Pro helps the body to overcome those unique genetic differences, supplying essential omega fatty acids in forms directly usable by the body to promote healthy fatty acid balance and, thus, healthy cognitive and neurological functions.†
The Equazen Pro formulation originated in the UK over 20 years ago, with focused efforts to address lipid deficiencies linked to learning conditions. This innovative product was also subject to a robust clinical development program that validated its unique formulation. In 2015, the Equazen portfolio of products was purchased by SFI Health and is now distributed in 26 countries worldwide. With this new launch—which is defined by our commitment to supporting children and adolescents with ADHD around the globe—Equazen Pro is now available to U.S. healthcare practitioners and their patients as a medical food.
Equazen Pro is a medical food designed to address omega fatty acid metabolic differences in children and adolescents with ADHD, supplying the clinically tested ratio EPA:DHA:GLA=9:3:1 to promote healthy fatty acid metabolism and balanced omega fatty acid levels.†
†EQUAZEN® PRO is a medical food to support learning, concentration, and brain development in children/adolescents with ADHD who have been determined by medical evaluation to require nutritional management of polyunsaturated fatty acid deficiencies that cannot be achieved by modification of normal diet alone.
NOTICE: EQUAZEN® PRO IS A MEDICAL FOOD TO BE USED UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A PHYSICIAN OR OTHER LICENSED HEALTHCARE PRACTITIONER. IT IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR ANY MEDICATION.

Parker University Celebrates 100th Birthday of its Founder, Dr. Jim Parker
In remembrance of its founder, the late Dr. Jim Parker, Parker University is proud to recognize and celebrate his 100th birthday on September 12. Because of Dr. Parker’s commitment to success and his willingness to make a difference in others’ lives through chiropractic, Parker University is what it is today – the fourth-fastest growing college in Texas, with more than 1,800 students and 34 academic programs.
Born in Snyder, Texas, on September 12, 1920, Dr. Parker suffered from various chronic illnesses throughout his young life. In 1942, in an Austin newspaper, Dr. Parker read about a man with similar illnesses who was helped by chiropractic treatments. Within months of starting chiropractic treatments himself, Dr. Parker’s ailments improved. Impressive results ultimately led Dr. Parker to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.
While a student at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, Dr. Parker established two chiropractic clinics in Illinois. He moved to Fort Worth in 1947 and opened 18 clinics in Texas, including cities like Fort Worth, Houston, Beaumont, Baytown, and Austin.
In 1951, Dr. Parker began the Parker Chiropractic Resource Foundation (PCRF), with seminars worldwide taught through his Parker School for Professional Success (PSPS). In 1971, he created Share International, the world’s largest supplier of chiropractic products.
From 1963 to 1970, Dr. Parker traveled the world conducting his seminars. Throughout his prestigious career, Dr. Parker taught more than 500,000 Doctors of Chiropractic globally.
In 1978, Dr. Parker led a march in Washington, D.C., to petition the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare to grant the same rights and privileges to Doctors of Chiropractic as it did to medical doctors. He also played a vital role in convincing Louisiana legislators to license chiropractors.
In September 1982, Dr. Parker opened Parker College of Chiropractic in Irving. The college began as an extension of his Parker Seminars program, and he served as president of the college until 1996.
When serving as president of Parker College of Chiropractic, on the Parker Chiropractic Resource Foundation, and through Share International, Dr. Parker developed a reputation as a respected speaker and visionary in chiropractic. Honorary degrees and citizens’ awards were bestowed upon Dr. Parker. He received commendations from state chiropractic associations and chiropractic groups worldwide, including the American Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractic Association.
For five decades, Dr. Parker’s passion was dedicated to chiropractic, up to his passing in 1997. Even today, Parker University’s philosophy of service to others is rooted in the principles and beliefs Dr. Parker felt so strongly about establishing.
Parker University President Dr. Bill Morgan says, “Parker University owes the legacy of James W. Parker our deepest gratitude. His vision, energy, and unstoppable drive created a university worthy to bear his name. We, at Parker, strive to honor his memory through excellence, loving service, and dedication to the healing arts.”
It is an honor to celebrate the remarkable life and impressive career of Dr. Parker. The chiropractic industry is what it is today because of his commitment to serving others and his putting innovative chiropractic care above all else. Happy birthday, Dr. Parker!
About Parker University
Parker University, the fourth-fastest growing college in Texas and the fastest-growing college in Dallas, was founded in 1982 by Dr. James William Parker (formerly Parker College of Chiropractic). Today, Parker University has more than 1,800 students and 34 academic programs, including its famed chiropractic program, as well as master’s degrees in neuroscience, clinical neuroscience, strength and human performance, and functional nutrition. Currently, Parker University’s chiropractic cohort is the second largest of any campus in the world.
Genesis Chiropractic Software and Billing Network Announces New Integrated HIPAA Compliant Telehealth Integration
Genesis Chiropractic Software and Billing Network, the leading cloud-based business management solution for chiropractors, announced today the launch of its integrated, HIPAA compliant, telehealth solution, available to US-based clients immediately. With Genesis telehealth, healthcare professionals can start running their virtual practice in under 90 seconds.
According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, there’s been a dramatic increase in the utilization of telehealth services for primary care delivery in Fee-for-Service (FFS) Medicare since the early days of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Covid-19 has changed the way in which doctors are interacting with their patients for the better,” said Brian Capra, DC Founder and President of Genesis Chiropractic Software. “The new healthcare landscape has forced doctors to pivot in order to achieve proper patient care, which is why HIPAA-compliant, video conferencing is more important now than ever.”
According to Capra, doctors face several challenges, “for some doctors, they simply aren’t tech savvy and do not know where to begin, for others, using video conferencing tools that aren’t integrated with their current daily workflow and practice management technology is not intuitive or convenient.”
The Genesis telehealth platform helps solve these issues because it integrates with a practice’s current patient appointment book. This allows doctors to easily send secure links directly to their patients prior to the virtual appointment. “This is a game changer because insurance companies are starting to pay for virtual doctor visits,” adds Capra.
Additionally, both doctors and their patients benefit from the new platform because appointment reminder emails and SMS are now in one place and the doctor is no longer using two different systems.
About Genesis Chiropractic Software (GCS)

It provides a complete chiropractic practice management system in the cloud that supports every role in a busy chiropractic practice, from the owner and practitioners to the front desk and back office.
